Maiko Nakagaki

Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager

Maiko Nakagaki is a Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager with the Alliance for Affordable Internet. She brings over a decade of international experience in ICT policy, private sector development, and gender equality.

At A4AI, Maiko oversees and manages key relationships and partnerships with its 100+ members and partners. She also manages telecommunication and connectivity projects around  universal access policy and rural broadband access. She served as a lead project manager for large investment analysis projects including the ITU’s Connecting Humanity Report and the World Bank/Broadband Commission’s Working Group on Broadband for All: Digital Infrastructure for Africa Moonshot Initiative

Prior to joining A4AI, she was with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) where she spearheaded the organsation’s first-ever digital economy and internet freedom initiatives, in addition to launching innovative women’s economic and democratic empowerment programs. Maiko was also with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Cairo to evaluate gender inclusive private sector development projects in the Middle East region, and consulted for several economic development projects through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Maiko holds a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor’s from Mount Holyoke College.
