UN Commission Highlights A4AI at Washington Meeting

The United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) will highlight the work of A4AI during its 2013-2014 Inter-sessional Panel, taking place at the U.S. State Department December 2-4.

On Tuesday, December 3, Wendy Seltzer, Board Member of the World Wide Web Foundation, will introduce A4AI during a panel addressing ICTs for inclusive social and economic development, one of the CSTD’s themes for 2013-14.

Along with serving on the board of the Web Foundation, Wendy is Policy Counsel to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and a visiting Fellow with Yale Law School’s Information Society Project, researching openness in intellectual property, innovation, privacy, and free expression online

The CSTD is a subsidiary body of the U.N. Economic and Social Council and the “torchbearer” for science, technology, engineering, and innovation in the U.N. system. It is a multi-stakeholder forum for governments, industry, academia, and civil society to share best practices and foster cooperation between developed and developing countries.
