A global coalition working to make broadband affordable for all

How We Work

The high cost of an internet connection is keeping billions around the world from coming online. A4AI’s work is driven by the belief that affordability should not be a barrier to internet access, and that policy and regulatory reform represent the best tools to reduce the cost to connect.

To achieve our goal of affordable access for all, we employ a combination of research, in-country engagement, and international advocacy — underpinned by a set of policy and regulatory good practices that have been agreed to by all A4AI members.

ResearchResearchWe believe that robust evidence is critical to progress. Our advocacy work and country engagements are driven by qualitative and quantitative research — both our own original research and that of our members and partners.
Country EngagementCountry EngagementWe work on the ground around the world to advance the policies needed to make internet access more affordable for all. In each country of engagement, we work with the government and in-country partners to build strong national coalitions that work to develop the solutions needed to tackle local barriers to affordability.
AdvocacyAdvocacyFrom engagement at high-level events to on-the-ground work with A4AI national coalitions, A4AI works to identify key barriers to affordability, and to bring together the key stakeholders needed to change policy and drive solutions forward.
