A4AI announces pledge to advance meaningful connectivity through the Partner2Connect Digital Coalition

The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) is pleased to announce our pledge to the Partner2Connect Digital Coalition, a multistakeholder initiative of ITU and the UN, to foster meaningful connectivity and digital transformation throughout the world, with a focus on but not limited to the most difficult to connect communities in the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States.

As a longtime partner and collaborator, we support ITU‘s leadership and efforts to mobilize action towards achieving the universal meaningful connectivity targets.

We are excited to announce our pledge at the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2022 taking place this week in Kigali.

Our pledge is:

A4AI, with support from the World Wide Web Foundation, pledges to focus on developing the data and evidence in global connectivity. We will continue our collaboration and partnership with the ITU, to support strong policy advocacy to achieve universal meaningful access. A4AI will champion a multi-stakeholder approach to policy change and work with 10 countries in the Global South to embrace the universality targets and good practices in the next 2 to 5 years.

We are excited about working together with our global partners on this pledge, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration and strengthening partnerships across the ecosystem towards our common goal of affordable meaningful connectivity for everyone.
