Affordability Report 2015-2016

The 2015-16 Affordability Report, released in February 2016, looks at the policy frameworks in place across 51 developing and emerging countries to determine what is working to expand access to affordable broadband. This year’s report looks particularly at how poverty and income and gender inequality are masking the true state of affordability.

This brief study examines the Dominican Republic’s liberalisation process, the consequent growth of its ICT sector and the reasons for the sector’s slowed growth since 2010, and highlights a number of opportunities for the country to get back on track toward affordable internet.
