Nigeria Becomes First African Country to Join A4AI

We’re delighted to be able to announce today that Nigeria has become the first African country to join A4AI formally. This follows this signing by Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s Honorable Minister of Communication Technology of a Memorandum of Understanding between A4AI and Nigeria. A4AI will now work closely with a range of stakeholders in Nigeria to identify policy and regulatory barriers to internet affordability in the country and help to put in place a plan to address these.

A4AI has committed to be working on the ground in three developing countries before the end of 2013, and Nigeria will be the first of these. We’ll be announcing further country members in the weeks to come.
